there are more drivers on the road heading into san francisco. there are no problems at the bay bridge toll plaza. is just slow commute heading into the city. your back of does not extend to oakland mayes is backed up on that 880. the meteor light sour 01metering lights are on. theryour drive time is still 12 minutes from hayward to foster city. we had an earlier accident on southbound but that was quickly cleared. it is not causing any delays. if you plan on using highway 580 they had rolled construction. they are repairing eastbound. this is between greenville and northland. it is down to one lane so you have all of this traffic try to squeeze by. only the three right lanes are closed. this will go to 9:00 a.m. this morning. this is all so slow and stop and go out of tracy. give yourself extra time for both of the size of 580. >> the highest tide of the year called the teen tied causing flooding and traffic headaches in the bay area. in mill valley, the northbound 101 at highway 1 ramp was closed because the water was too high. he even so, some

san josi nearly an inch. san francisco just about an inch and oakland 1.25". fremont just over 1.5". we're still tracking moderate to heavy rain across the region right now. all thought coverage has been decreasing on live stormtracker 2, but we're watching the santa cruz mountains with the excessive rainfall amounts. we'll check out the south bay for san josi, the darker shades evergreen and yellows reflect heavy rainfall towards milpitas and livermore, this activity just beginning to drift to the south and east. basically just a few lingering showers out towards the brentwood area and around antioch. those yellow and reds showing up around highway 4. and up in the north bay, you can pick out of the coverage backing off quite a bit, but we have some heavier downpours closer to the concord area. as far as snow, actually just snapped this picture a few minutes ago. highway 9, you can see the snow piling up. we still have a storm warning in place until 10:00 this evening. chains currently required on 80 and 50. travel will be better because cold front is heading

i want to give you a look because you can see san francisco police are in the process of shutting down essex street. now the water has been shut off and we showed you that in the last half hour but there is a new problem. if we pan over here, take a look at the construction site. you can see the scaffolding is compromised with some of the metal beams going down. the firefighter said he is not sure if that is stable or if that structure is compromised so if they can get the construction guys out here to make sure that it's not about to fall, they have shut down this street and they don't know when it will reopen. let me show you video from when all of this happened because there was quite a mess out here. it was shotting an estimated 30 feet in the air and 50,000 gallons came out before they were able to shut it off. again it started with a driver running through a red light and that's what police are telling ktvu channel 2 morning news. it started when this driver tried to turn on to essex and folsom and crashed into that fire hydrant. we don't know the extent of his injuries but we ha
